Sacramento, California – Today, the California State Senate voted to pass SB 1100 authored by Senator Anthony J. Portantino, D–La Cañada Flintridge. SB 1100 proposes to prohibit a person from making more than one firearm purchase within a 30-day period in California and increases the age requirement for purchasing all firearms to 21 years. The bill is now headed to the Assembly.

Glendale, California- Senator Anthony J. Portantino, D- La Cañada Flintridge, received the Honorary Service Award from the First District PTA. Portantino, a PTA member, has been a lifelong advocate of K-12 public school education.  He has worked closely with the First District PTA throughout his years in office.  Portantino is the father of two daughters, one who completed her K-12 education in public schools and the other a current 10th grader in a public high school.
