Portantino’s (D – La Cañada Flintridge) education bill package of SB 328,  SB 484 and SB 695 have all passed the California State Legislature and are now headed to the Governor’s office for action.  Senator Portantino has been a PTA member for 20 years and is a long-time ardent supporter of public education.  The Senator has been dedicated to improving K-16 public education in California for his entire legislative career.

Sacramento, California –Senator Anthony J. Portantino’s (D – La Cañada Flintridge) gun control bills, SB 61, SB 172, and SB 376, passed the Legislature and will now go to the Governor’s Office.  SB 61, SB 172, and SB 376 all further establish Senator Portantino as one of the country's leading sensible gun control advocates.  Senator Portantino has previously banned the open carry of handguns and rifles on Main Street California and raised the gun purchase age in California to 21.

Sacramento, California – Today, the State Legislature passed SB 328 authored by State Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – La Cañada Flintridge).  If signed by Governor Newsom, California would become the first state in the country to mandate that high schools and middle schools start later in the morning.  The bill is based on over three decades worth of research on teen health, sleep patterns and brain chemistry that occurs when school start times are aligned with the biology of teens.

Sacramento, California – Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D- La Cañada Flintridge) proudly announced today that SB 7 has passed the California State Legislature and is now at the Governor’s desk.  This final legislative outcome is the culmination of over 20 years of dedication the Senator brought to fighting the freeway and helping the 710 corridor.  It follows through on a promise that the Senator made to the activists, non-profits, and tenants in the 710 corridor when he helped negotiate the end of the 710 tunnel in December of 2016.
