The event will be held with participating businesses such as Sylvan Learning Center, Claremont School of Music, Golden State Water Company Co, Feeling Groovy Wellness & Cafe. There will be business owners and community leaders to hear concerns and learn how he can best support local small businesses in his district.

Sacramento, California – Governor Jerry Brown recently signed SB 1422 and SB 1263 authored by Senator Anthony J. Portantino, D–La Cañada Flintridge.  These bills will help increase the knowledge of the risks of micro plastic materials and microfibers on the marine environment and in drinking water.  Micro plastics pose a potential threat to the public’s health as the levels of micro plastics in drinking water are not currently monitored and they are increasingly present in our ocean water.

Gov. Jerry Brown signed three bills Friday toughening gun restrictions, causing a mixed bag of reactions from people depending on where they stand on gun control.

Gun rights supporters said the new laws punish people already following the rules, while anti-gun violence activists said the laws get guns out of the hands of people who shouldn’t have them.

Sacramento, California – Today, Governor Jerry Brown signed SB 1100 authored by Senator Anthony J. Portantino, D–La Cañada Flintridge. SB 1100 will prohibit the sale or transfer of any firearm by a licensed dealer, except as specially exempted, to any person below the age of 21 years.
