Senator Perez’s Summer Reading Challenge Begins 7/1
Dear Neighbor,
As a proud champion of literacy and in the spirit of Senate Resolution (SR) 81, which recognizes the importance of literacy and encourages communities to foster a lifelong love for reading, I invite all TK-8 students across Senate District (SD) 25 to participate in my 2026 Summer Reading Challenge!
Here’s what you need to know:
Read 10 books this summer between July 1st to September 1st. Write down the title and information of all the books you read on the attached reading log. Once you hit 10 books, you will get a Certificate of Recognition for participating.
Summer Reading Logs are available here.
To submit reading logs, parents can email a picture to Xalma.Palomino@sen.ca.gov (Subject: Summer Reading Challenge) or by dropping them off in person at 215 N. Marengo Ave. Suite 380, Pasadena, CA 91101.
District Office Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Join thousands of students across SD-25 as we promote the benefits and joys of reading this summer!
As always, I am grateful for the support and engagement of my constituents! If you need assistance with state government services, please contact my office or visit my Senate website at: sd25.senate.ca.gov. Please reach out if I can be of assistance.
*This summer reading challenge is only open to SD-25 constituents.
