SACRAMENTO – Senator Sasha Renée Pérez (D-Alhambra) has been named Chair of the Senate Education Committee by Senate President pro Tempore Mike McGuire (D-North Coast).
The WASC Senior College and University Commission, a regional accrediting body for U.S. colleges, recently proposed removing references to diversity, equity, and inclusion from its standards, sparking concerns among stakeholders. Today, the commission announced it will retain its commitment to diversity in response to feedback from its membership and other organizations, emphasizing the need for deeper consideration before making changes.
SACRAMENTO – The California State Senate held a swearing-in ceremony today to officially administer the Oath of Office to the Honorable Sasha Renée Pérez who will represent the 25th District, which spans parts of Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties.
