Senator Sasha Renée Pérez joins calls for LA28 Olympics Chairman to resign

SACRAMENTOSenator Sasha Renée Pérez (D-Pasadena) has issued the following statement calling for the resignation of Casey Wasserman, chairman of the LA28 Olympics organizing committee:

“Casey Wasserman should immediately resign from his LA28 Olympics leadership position. The emails released as part of the Epstein investigation are an international distraction that could easily damage the success of the LA28 Olympics. My district will be hosting some of the international competitions and there is too much on the line to ignore this. His documented association with now-convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell raises serious concerns and questions about his knowledge of Epstein’s and Maxwell’s criminal activity.

“It’s time for Mr. Wasserman to exit his role, so LA28 can have new leadership.”
