MLK Day: A Day of Service!

Embracing justice inspiring change MLK graphic

Dear Friends,

As we honor the life and legacy of Dr. King today, let us reflect on all the positive change community organizations have made in our region.

Although MLK Day is often looked at as a day OFF, it should really be considered a day ON for service.

Over the years, recognizing MLK Day as a day of service has taken root in communities across America.

In our own community, we have seen the power of service to uplift our fellow neighbors particularly during and after the Eaton Fire.

Your time and energy can be a valuable investment in our people to create positive change and help others in need.

I encourage everyone to look for ways to form community and work together in service.

These actions can keep Dr. King’s legacy alive and make his dream of racial equality and justice a reality.

I wish you all a Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!

It’s an honor to serve you. If you need assistance with state government services, please contact my office or visit my Senate website at: https://sd25.senate.ca.gov/
