Senator Sasha Renée Pérez announces state funding to restore and expand affordable housing in Altadena
ALTADENA, CA – Senator Sasha Renée Pérez (D-Pasadena) joined affordable housing champions Wednesday in Altadena to announce $4 million in state budget investments to bring more Eaton Fire survivors home.
The funding allocated in the 2025-2026 California State Budget includes:
- $2 Million to Altadena Vista Senior Apartments that sustained damage in the Eaton Fire.
- $1 Million to San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity for affordable, rapid deploying of modular housing.
- $1 Million to Greenline Housing Foundation to support affordable housing development led by faith-based organizations.
“With today’s announcement, we take another tangible step in our journey of recovery,” said Senator Sasha Renée Pérez (D-Pasadena). “These funds, along with other funding sources and previously allocated state monies for fire recovery will bring stability to people’s lives. It’s been almost a year since our community was unimaginably transformed. We will continue to fight every day for survivors, and we must not let their critical housing needs go unaddressed.”
“I am so proud of the community partners who are on the ground, doing the work to help get our friends and neighbors back into homes. We are getting things done and seeing our community get stronger each day,” said Senator Pérez.
In addition, matching funding resources are being coordinated to further expand these housing solutions, specifically modular and housing provided by faith-based organizations, with the goal of assisting additional survivors.
