Upcoming Town Hall - Protecting Californians: Defending Immigrant Rights & Civil Liberties

Dear Neighbor,

Please join Attorney General Rob Bonta and me for a virtual town hall meeting, "Protecting Californians: Defending Immigrant Rights & Civil Liberties."

We will have a conversation about the ongoing immigration enforcement operations taking place in California, including the tragic death of Carlos Roberto Montoya, a 52-year-old man from Guatemala, who died in August on the 210 freeway in Monrovia. For more information on his tragic passing click here.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 22 at 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

This town hall is open to all concerned community members. Attorney General Bonta will discuss his role in leading the California Department of Justice and how his office is responding to federal immigration raids, including any lawsuits filed in response to unlawful actions.

An image of a black, red and blue flyer with photos of Senator Sasha Renée Pérez and Attorney General Rob Bonta is used to promote the Senator's October 22 virtual town hall on immigrant rights.

Additional guest organizations making presentations include:

  • ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union)
  • AJSOCAL (Advancing Justice Southern California)
  • CHIRLA (Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights)

At this moment, Californians need to understand the law and know their rights. This town hall will be held virtually to ensure broad participation and accessibility for all community members.

It is an honor to represent you in the State Senate.

Please reach out if I can be of assistance.
