Reflecting on My First 100 Days in Office and Key Deadlines for Eaton Fire Recovery

Dear Neighbor,

My first 100 days in office have left a lasting impression, full of both challenges and achievements.

On my second day in office, the Eaton Fire broke out in Altadena, a tragedy that brought devastation, pain and anguish to so many individuals across Senate District 25.

I’ve been working nonstop to advocate for our residents, ensuring that we connect fire victims with the resources and support they need during this difficult time.

Additionally, I have introduced several pieces of legislation focused on fire recovery and prevention.

On Wednesday, I chaired our first meeting of the Senate Education Committee. I am committed to ensuring that our schools are fully funded in the state budget, especially given the current federal uncertainty.

Two of my education bills passed out of committee with bipartisan support. They are:

  • SB 98, (SAFE Act), which alerts families of immigration enforcement on school campuses.
  • SB 341, (School Gardens), which reestablishes California’s school gardens program.

If you have been impacted by the Eaton Fire, please complete all of the applications for aid and assistance as soon as possible.
