Glendale Youth Alliance named Nonprofit of the Year by Sen. Anthony Portantino

State Sen. Anthony Portantino honored the Glendale Youth Alliance (GYA) as the 25th State Senate District Nonprofit of the Year at a special ceremony on June 28 in Sacramento. GYA Board Chair Shant Sahakian and Executive Director Karine Grigoryan were in attendance to accept the honor.

The GYA designs mentoring programs to build civic values and provide a foundation for an average of 400 youth each year to learn job skills and become productive participants of the workforce. Since 1993, GYA programs have impacted the lives of more than 9,300 participants by preparing them for the future workforce.

“Thousands of young individual lives have been transformed due to the Glendale Youth Alliance’s creation of partnerships between governmental bodies, educational institutions, and the business community,” said Portantino. “Their programs are designed to provide a foundation for youth to learn job skills and become productive participants of the workforce.”
