Sacramento, CA - Senate Bill 1079, a measure authored by State Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank) to help decrease noise pollution by using sound activated devices, was signed into law by Governor Newsom today.   Streets for All, a nonprofit organization that advocates for street safety, was the sponsor of the measure.

Glendale, California – Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank) received the 2022 Senate Legislative Champion Award from the California Alliance of Child and Family Services during their Homecoming Conference.  The Senator was honored for championing policies that promote the social, emotional, and behavioral wellbeing of children and families.

Pasadena, California - State Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank) announced today that his budget request of $250,000 for Levon & Hasmig Tavlian Preschool & Kindergarten in Pasadena was approved by the Legislature.  The funds will help with renovation projects, STEAM enrichment curriculum, and technology upgrades.

Sacramento, California – Senate Bill 562, authored by Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank), passed the Legislature and is headed to the Governor’s desk.  The measure seeks to eliminate barriers to help patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) access more options of Behavior Health Treatment (BHT).

Sacramento, CA – Senate Bill 1002, a measure authored by State Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank) seeks to address the mental health provider shortage.  It is headed to the Governor’s desk for signature.  SB 1002 would authorize qualified social workers to offer assessment and psychotherapy for mental or behavioral health issues, in order to provide additional resources to injured workers in need of immediate care.
