San Gabriel Valley Moms Demand Action is holding a Wear Orange event at the All Saints Episcopal Church. Speakers will include Rep. Judy Chu (D) and State Senator Anthony Portantino (D).

The movement is national in scope with over 700 Wear Orange efforts scheduled across the width and breadth of the map.

SGVMDA’s Taylor spoke May 31 on the issue at the Jackie Robinson Community Center.

The only free dedicated public garden in Pasadena, one where regenerative environmental practices hold sway, has been chosen by State Sen. Anthony Portantino (D) as the 2019 California Nonprofit of the Year from the 25th Senate District.

Arlington Garden said in a June 4 statement that it was chosen for its “outstanding service to the community.”

Hundreds of Burbank residents, dignitaries, elected officials and veterans gathered to honor the lives of fallen military personnel as part of the city of Burbank’s annual Memorial Day ceremony at the war memorial in McCambridge Park.

On the note of remembrance, state Sen. Anthony Portantino (D-La Cañada Flintridge) pointed out some of the unseen aspects of war and its aftereffects on veterans and their communities.

The California State Senate on Wednesday, May 22 passed Senate Bill 7, putting the “formal legislative end” to the 710 Freeway extension by prohibiting construction of a freeway tunnel between Routes 10 and 210, according to a statement from the office of bill author Anthony J. Portantino (D-25th). The bill passed on a vote of 38-0. It now moves on to the Assembly. Supporters hope it will be signed by the governor in September.

Supporting the direction of the Pasadena City Council, Pasadena-area State Senator Anthony J. Portantino sent a letter Tuesday requesting that the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) adopt recommendations from the City for the toxic cleanup of the proposed site of an East Pasadena mixed-up use development.
