Glendale, California – Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D–La Cañada Flintridge) has selected Rose Queen Louise Deser Siskel of San Marino as the 25th State Senate District 2019 Women of the Year. Every year during the California State Legislature honors one woman from each district and honors then in a ceremony.  This year, Senator Portantino is honored that Ms. Siskel has agreed to proudly represent the 25th Senate District.

PASADENA—On January 10, the Pasadena Chapter of the Armenian National Committee of America held its annual holiday reception at the Pasadena Hovhannes and Hripsime Jivalagian Youth Center. The reception was attended in full capacity with the presence of local and state elected officials, community leaders, members, and supporters of the regional Armenian-American community.

The Jewish Federation of the Greater San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys is partnering with the City of Pasadena and the community’s synagogues, to hold Every Person Has a Name. This 25-hour vigil will be held on the steps of Pasadena City Hall on Saturday, January 26 and Sunday, January 27, 2019.

There's Barack Obama Way in New Albany Township, Indiana, and Barack Obama Boulevard in Pahokee, Florida. There's a long list of schools now named after him, like Barack Obama Academy for Academic & Civic Development in Plainfield, New Jersey, and Barack Obama Elementary School in Richmond, Virginia.
