Portantino (D – Burbank), seeks to address a serious lapse in autism treatment.  The current system of care for individuals with autism includes essentially one treatment option for parents seeking the best care for their children and too many families end up paying out of pocket for evidence-based care. SB 805, which passed the Senate Human Services Committee, will expand care options and modernize workforce positions to provide better care.

Sacramento, California – Today, Senate Bill 786, authored by Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank), passed the Senate Health Committee. SB 786 would allow health care providers and pharmacies to continue to provide high quality affordable care, low cost drugs, and services to low income and uninsured patients by ensuring that these health care providers can benefit fully from the purchase of discounted drugs and use those savings to improve access to care and prescriptions at their facilities.
