Sacramento, California – Senate Bill 445, authored by Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank), passed the Senate floor today. Many parents don’t speak English but yet have students who require IEPs. Some schools take as long as a year to properly translate them, shortchanging an entire year of education for our students. SB 445 presents a timeline for translating foundational documents so parents can advocate for their children.
