Information about Coronavirus
Dear Constituents,
We just temporarily recessed the regular session of the California Legislature to focus exclusively on Coronavirus for the moment.
Prior to gaveling down, we appropriated a $1.1 billion surge fund for new hospital beds, lifesaving equipment and help for healthcare, childcare and senior in-home support workers. We also built a safety net for shuttered schools and the families and workers who rely on them. We also passed Legislation to help implement Governor Newsom’s Education Order which will increase protective equipment, supplies, and cleaning for schools, and ensure districts will not lose expected revenue over Coronavirus-related closures.

Help braving the economic hit:
- Caring for an ill or quarantined family member? You may qualify for Paid Family Leave (PFL).
- Lost your job? Hours reduced? File an unemployment insurance claim with EDD.
- And remember: if you're unable to work due to medical quarantine or illness or got sick on the job, you may qualify for paid sick leave, Disability Insurance, or Workers Compensation.
