Senator Anthony J. Portantino is proud to announce Stacey Whitney, owner of the Altadena Farmers Market, as the 25th State Senate District’s 2020 Small Business of the Year. The Altadena Farmers Market is well known for its fresh home grown produce, community friendly enviroment and its sustainability efforts including a zero waste initiative.
Every year, the California Small Business Assocation hosts a luncheon and awards ceremoney in the Capitol where one small business is recognized by each of the 120 legislators. Senator Portantino chose Stacey Whitney, of the Altadena Farmers Market from the many thousands of small business in his district.
“I am very happy to be honoring Stacey Whitney of the Altadena Farmers Market as the 25th Senate District’s Small Business of the Year. Ms. Whitney is a positive and integral part of our district’s small business community. In addition to her passion for fresh produce she exemplifies a deep commitment to environmental causes which sets an example for all of us to follow. Her business model seeks to influence best practices for other farmers markets t0 follow,” commented Senator Portantino.
Among the many talents Stacey Whitney has, she is also a Master Gardner and a Cordon Bleu Chef. She believes in in teaching folks how to cook healthy, eat healthy, and sustain themselves financially.
