While it’s not clear if President Barack Obama ever drove the stretch of the 134 between Glendale and Pasadena, the state Legislature may name a segment of the freeway after the 44th President of the United States.
State Sen. Anthony Portantino, D-Glendale, introduced a resolution Tuesday to name the 134 Freeway between the 2 Freeway and the 210 Freeway the “President Barack H. Obama Freeway.”
Tuesday, Senator Anthony J. Portantino introduced Resolution, SCR 8, which will name the segment of the CA-134 freeway between the Glendale CA-2 and the Interstate 210 Freeway the “President Barack H. Obama Freeway”.

Today, Sen. Anthony J. Portantino (D-La Cañada Flintridge) joined other newly elected Senators in the 40-member upper house of the State Legislature. With his daughter Sofia by his side, Portantino was sworn in as the State Senator for the 25th District.
