Los Feliz Ledger: State Senator Announces New Legislation to Increase MediCal for HiV and AIDS Patients

Today, Senator Portantino, D – La Cañada Flintridge, who represents Los Feliz and Atwater Village, among other areas in the 25th Senate District, honored National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day with legislation, SB 1154.

The bill would require the State Dept. of Health Care Services to determine a per capita rate of payment to Medi-Cal recipients with HIV or AIDS.

“Today, I am proud to honor National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day with legislation that will help more individuals affected by HIV and AIDS. Public health is an important issue to me and I will continue to fight for more resources and educational programs for those in need,” Portantino said in a statement.
