Sacramento, California – Today Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank) introduced Senate Bill 691, a measure aimed at improving literacy outcomes by requiring early identification and intervention for students who are at risk for dyslexia. Forty states have already passed legislation requiring screening for risk of dyslexia and California isn’t one of them.

Sacramento, California – Today Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank) introduced Senate Bill 551, a measure that would enhance student wellness and improve school outcomes by requiring  all counties to collaborate with Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to fund school-based behavioral health services.  The bill will bring needed accountability and priorities to Prop 63 funding.

Sacramento, California – Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank) introduced Senate Bill 467 today, a measure which is aimed at promoting equal access to higher education for all Californians by breaking down barriers for undocumented students.
